Man in Despair

Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.

(Matthew 25:45)

Prayer defines things. Prayer is the basis for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. When you have a relationship with another person you have ongoing conversations with that person. Depending on the level of intimacy we have with that person, we may be distant “associates,” or we may laugh together, cry together, and know things about each other that no one else knows. Prayer is that intimacy we have with God, the Creator of the universe, Who knows us and loves us as His own children.

In prayer, we do our part in fostering our relationship with God, who is always faithful and available and ready to listen to His children.

We all desire to be known. And God knows us better than we even know ourselves.

We all desire to be loved. And God loves us more than even we love ourselves, because love is perfected in God. In fact, God is Love. He is the source of Love, the giver of Love, and the true recipient of Love.

I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. (John 13: 34-35)
